About SinBad Captain Services
Why SinBad Captain Services Came to be
Kevin and Karen Pope are the Owners and Operators of Sinbad Captains Services.
Kevin grew up in Texas, enlisted in the US Navy and served 25 years as an Elite US Navy SEAL.
Karen grew up on the Virginia Coast and Outer Banks of North Carolina on Fishing Boats and Sports Fishing Yachts. Not quite the Elite Navy SEAL, but she can drive a boat.
As their interest in Sailing and exploring with rags in the wind developed, they became a part of the Sailing communities on the Gulf Coast of Texas and Florida.
Kevin being an active Captain, Instructor and Sailor saw deficiencies in the Captain Service Industry. Licensing, insurance, knowledge, professionalism, tracking of deliveries: HOW to make it better for Clients and Captains.
After much discussion with other Captains and Clients: Sinbad Captains Services was born.
With the Leadership and instructor skills Kevin has developed over the years we set out to create a Company that would develop, mentor, market and professionalize Sea Captains to meet the demands of the Yacht industry and make each Yachting experience a Fun, Safe and Successful venture for the Captains and Yacht owners.
